What is Included During my Massage Session?
A massage session at Essential Body Wellness is truly customized to ensure every massage session you receive meets and/or exceeds your expectations.
Often times people ask, “What is included during my massage session?” A massage session at Serenity includes time for you to dress/undress and time to communicate with the therapist to customize your massage. This is done to ensure every massage session you receive meets and/or exceeds your expectations.
What makes us different? Swedish massage, Deep Tissue massage, Medical massage and hydrotherapy are included at no additional charge.
Swedish Massage is used to promote relaxation by using slow, long, circular strokes with light to medium pressure. Swedish massage increases blood circulation and moves metabolic waste out of the body. This helps relieve pain, improve mood, decrease nervous tension, improve sleep, and promote clear thinking. If you are looking for overall relaxation and stress relief, Swedish massage is the modality for you.
Deep Tissue is used to relieve specific stressed muscles. Deep tissue is popular with athletes maintaining prolonged, hard workouts. Deep Tissue is also a great therapy for chronic pain, such as tension headaches and back pain. Before your session begins, you and your therapist will discuss which modalities are right for you to get the most benefit from your massage.
Medical Massage differs from regular massage in that the treatment is specifically directed to resolve conditions diagnosed by a medical doctor. Medical Massage focuses the treatment on the specific areas of the body related to the diagnosis. During a medical massage session, we may use a variety of modalities such as Deep Tissue Massage, Trigger Point Massage, Neuromuscular Therapy, Myofascial Release, Contemporary Cupping Therapy, Hydrotherapy, and more.
Aromatherapy, also referred to as Essential Oil therapy, can be defined as the art and science of utilizing naturally extracted aromatic essences from plants to balance, harmonize and promote the health of body, mind and spirit. It seeks to unify physiological, psychological and spiritual processes to enhance an individual’s innate healing process according to the National Association for Holistic Aromatherapy.
Massage therapists do not diagnose medical conditions nor is this information intended to replace medical counsel. It is always advised to consult your physician first when you are seeking pain relief as there are many conditions with similar symptoms and some of them are life threatening and require medical attention.
